Middlesex County Assistant District Attorney Award Presented to Robert Bender

WOBURN – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan is pleased to announce that Robert Bender has been named the 2019 recipient of the Middlesex County Assistant District Attorney Award by the Middlesex Bar Association. The award recognizes Robert’s hard work, commitment and determination and the positive impact his work has had on the Commonwealth.

Assistant District Attorney Bender joined the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office in 2007 as a member of the Appeals and Training Bureau. With over 40 years of experience as a prosecutor, Robert Bender has had leadership roles in Wisconsin and in Massachusetts. He has held positions in the appeals unit at the Essex and Worcester District Attorney’s Offices before joining the Middlesex Office, where he currently serves as Deputy Chief of the Appeals and Training Bureau.

Robert Bender was born in Boston and graduated from Harvard College. He earned a degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School. He was admitted to Bar in Wisconsin in 1976 and he passed the Bar in Massachusetts the same year.

He resides with his wife Sandy Venner in Merrimac, Mass, where Bender has completed 30 years in local government service and his wife continues volunteering.

About the Middlesex County Bar Association: Established in 1899, the Middlesex County Bar Association is one of the oldest, continuously operating, and county bar associations in the country. The Middlesex County Bar Association is a voluntary membership association open to all attorneys who practice in Middlesex County. The Middlesex County Bar Association has several hundred members and maintains offices at the Middlesex Superior Court in Woburn.
