It’s not everyday that you have a family fly in from Wisconsin to visit your police department just to say thank you, but that’s exactly what the Carroll family did today. Earlier this year, Nate Carroll and his three children started the “thanking law enforcement challenge,” which consists of the family thanking police officers in all 50 states and 3,142 counties across America. While most of the challenge is being led through personal letters written by the Carroll children (ages 12, 10 and 8 ) to police officers, they are also trying to see as many departments as they can in person.
Today was the first time they’ve ever visited Massachusetts and Cambridge PD was the second stop on their list (after lunch)!
The family had an opportunity to spend time with Commissioner Bard, tour the building including Emergency Communications, attend their first Roll Call, and walk away with some pretty nice goodies from our officers.
On behalf of all of the officers and professional staff at CPD, thank you Carroll family for all that you’re doing to lead the #thankinglawenforcementchallenge #1millionpushups.
