Posted by

A beautiful tribute to one of Everett’s own, United States Air Force Senior Master Sergeant James L. Celata. Celata served with courage and integrity during the Vietnam War and decidedly continued to serve to protect and defend this great nation against all enemies for over twenty years. Upon his honorable discharge from the United States Air Force in the fall of 1981, he held the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. Senior Master Sergeant James Louis Celata was the recipient of the following military awards: Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal Vietnam Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Vietnam Gallantry Cross Medal, and the Palm Vietnam Campaign Medal. This Memorial Square dedication is just a small gesture of our thanks, admiration, respect and love for this great man. His great love for his country and family was an inspiration to all of us, and Everett was lucky to have him. James will be sorely missed by us, but will always remain in our memories.
