Wakefield, MA – The Middlesex Concert Band looks forward to performing on the Common in Wakefield this Thursday, June 27th at 7:00 p.m. Bring a blanket or chair and enjoy a beautiful evening by the lake with a symphonic soundtrack of patriotic tunes and other favorites. The MCB thanks Farmland for their generous sponsorship of this free community concert! The rain date for this concert is Thursday, July 11th.
The MCB performed earlier this month in the Festival of Bands, hosted by Boston’s Metropolitan Wind Symphony in Faneuil Hall. On Independence Day, the MCB goes on the road to perform at the Park in Andover (11 a.m.) and at Mount Hood in Melrose (6:45). The next scheduled performance is the opener of the 2019-2020 season: our annual free Children’s Concert on Sunday, October 20th, which is sponsored by the Wakefield Cultural Council.
The MCB is a non-profit community band made up of about 60 volunteer musicians from all over the Boston and North Shore areas. The MCB plays traditional and contemporary wind ensemble music, marches, big band sounds, folk tunes and music from Broadway and Hollywood. Our Music Director is Mark E. Olson, who is also Director of Bands at Harvard University. For more information about the MCB, please visit mcbconcertband.org or like us on Facebook.
