Suspect Arrested in Connection with Everett Stabbing

EVERETT— Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan, Everett Chief of Police Steven Mazzie and Everett Mayor Carlos DeMaria have confirmed that Victor Mariscal, 27 of Everett, has been arrested and charged with armed assault with the intent to murder and assault and battery causing serious bodily injury in connection with the non-fatal stabbing of a 28-year-old Everett man that occurred on March 16, 2019 on Bradford Terrace in Everett.

“I am grateful to the public and the media for their assistance in helping investigators locate Mr. Mariscal,” said District Attorney Ryan. “Ultimately a member of the public was able to identify the alleged suspect as a result of the sketch and through the diligent work of investigators assigned to my office, State Police and Everett Police, we were able to place him into custody today.”

“I want to thank all those who worked tirelessly on this difficult case, from our own detectives to the State Police to the District Attorney’s Office. I also want to thank the public who shared information on social media. We spared no expense and used all our resources to make this arrest,” said Mayor DeMaria

“While we continue investigate, we hope this arrest will restore some comfort to the residents of the Bradford Terrace neighborhood,” said Chief Mazzie.

Mariscal was arrested today shortly after 6:00 p.m. in Cambridge. He will be arraigned tomorrow in Malden District Court.

The investigation into this incident and it’s possible connection to the fatal stabbing that occurred in the same area is still ongoing. As a result the booking photo of Mr. Mariscal will not be released at this time, and no additional information about the investigation will be released.

Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Unit (VFAS), Cambridge Police and Boston Police assisted Everett Police, the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and Massachusetts State Police assigned to the District Attorney’s office in apprehending the suspect. This case is being investigated by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, the Everett Police Department and Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
