EVERRET COMMUNITY PLACES AMERICAN FLAGS IN HONOR OF MEMORIAL DAY

Mayor Carlo DeMaria and the Office of Veterans Services would like to thank the many volunteers who took part in the recent veteran flag placement events.  Families, local Boy Scout troops, local officials, and City employees came together to place flags on Veterans graves at the Glenwood and Woodlawn Cemeteries in preparation for Memorial Day.

“I would like to extend my appreciation for the help the City received in placing flags for Memorial Day this year,” states Mayor DeMaria, “On both days we had an outstanding turnout of community members who not only volunteered their time, but also paid their respects to those servicemen and women who gave so much to uphold our democratic ideals of liberty and peace.”

A reminder that this year’s Memorial Day Ceremony will be held at the Glenwood Cemetery on Monday, May 28th. Light refreshments will be served just prior to 9:45AM and services will start promptly at 10AM.
