SALISBURY — Chief Thomas W. Fowler reports that the Salisbury Police Department is investigating after a body was located on Salisbury Beach this morning.
On Jan. 22, at 7:04 a.m., Salisbury Police officers responded to the area of
Commonwealth Avenue and Brookline Street on a report that a deceased male’s body had washed up onto the beach. A morning walker discovered the deceased male southeast of beach access #12.
Upon arrival to the scene, officers located the body of a man only wearing socks and shoes. His clothing and personal belongings also washed to shore and were found near his body.
The victim has been identified by his Massachusetts driver’s license as Forest Griffin, age 24, of Salisbury.
A preliminary investigation indicates that foul play is not suspected and Griffin’s death is not considered suspicious.
Salisbury Police detectives and Massachusetts State Troopers assigned to the Essex County District Attorney’s Office are investigating. There is currently no danger or threats to the public.
