MEDFORD – The federal delegation representing Medford recently announced their endorsement of Mayor Stephanie Muccini Burke in her re-election campaign. The federal delegation includes Representative Katherine Clark, Senator Ed Markey, and Senator Elizabeth Warren.
Regarding his support of Mayor Burke, Senator Ed Markey stated “Beginning when she was a City Councilor to today, Stephanie’s commitment to the City of Medford has only been enriched with experience and accomplishment. I have been fortunate to partner with her for years on the issues that matter most to her constituents, and her leadership is unmatched. Stephanie Muccini Burke is the most qualified and devoted person to lead Medford forward into a future of even greater prosperity and success.”
After taking office in 2016, Mayor Burke has worked closely with the federal delegation during her first term on several major issues and projects including the Green Line Extension, working to reduce aircraft noise, and most recently, working to preserve the tax exempt status of municipal bonds in order to help Medford thrive.
Representative Katherine Clark, who represents Massachusetts’ 5th district, stated “Throughout her first term, Mayor Burke has proven to be a tireless advocate for the City of Medford. From revitalizing Medford Square, to addressing the issue of airplane noise, to expanding career and technical education to prepare students for the jobs of the future, she has consistently demonstrated strong leadership and a clear vision for making Medford an even better place to live and work. I look forward to continuing to partner with Mayor Burke as we work to make progress on the issues that matter most to Medford residents.”
Senator Elizabeth Warren stated “Mayor Stephanie Muccini Burke is getting results for the City of Medford, and I’m glad to support her for reelection. I’ve seen firsthand how hard Mayor Burke works on behalf of the residents of Medford, from championing the Green Line extension to securing initial funding for a much-needed police headquarters and strengthening the city’s focus on promoting energy efficiency. Mayor Burke fights every day for hardworking families in Medford. Vote Stephanie Muccini Burke on November 7th!”
