MALDEN – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Malden Chief of Police Kevin Molis are investigating the death of a 31-year-old woman at a Lebanon Street residence. This death is considered suspicious.
Today at approximately 9:49 a.m. Malden police received a call of an unresponsive female at a Lebanon Street home in Malden. Upon arrival, police found the body of an adult female located inside the residence.
Police subsequently sought to locate Ryan Power, 32, of Malden who had allegedly left the home on Tuesday night following an altercation with the victim. A warrant issued for Power on the charges of strangulation and assault and battery on a household or family member. This afternoon Power was located in Seabrook, New Hampshire where he was arrested and charged as a fugitive from justice. Power waived extradition and was transported back to Massachusetts by Malden and State Police. Power will be arraigned in Malden District Court tomorrow, June 22, 2017.
This is an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police and Malden Police. The case has been referred to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner who will determine the cause and manner of death.
