EVERETT MAYOR DEMARIA VISITS NEW ENGLAND CENTER FOR ARTS & TECHNOLOGY

On Thursday, May 11th Mayor Carlo DeMaria toured the training facility for the New England Center for Arts & Technology (NECAT). NECAT is a career-directed educational non-profit serving resource-limited, chronically unemployed and underemployed adults and at-risk young adults in Boston. They offer targeted job training, support and employment services to prepare their students to secure and retain career-ladder jobs in the growing food services industry.
The Mayor wants to enable and inspire young adults to overcome educational, economic, and social constraints to secure established employment. Mayor DeMaria hopes to bring NECAT to the City of Everett to provide each individual, no matter what his or her circumstances, with a chance to thrive through job training.
NECAT, a non- profit organization, provides access to employment training and supports individuals by providing the skills necessary to obtain available jobs. The Mayor hopes to open up opportunities for Everett residents by partnering with NECAT to provide job training in the near future.
