RUNNING OF THE LEPRECHAUNS 4, produced by Foundation of Friends in partnership with the City of Medford will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2016 at the American Legion, 321 Winthrop Street, Medford, MA. This fun, 5k race/walk followed by a festive St. Patrick’s Day Party benefits Boston Children’s Hospital. RUNNING OF THE LEPRECHAUNS is a day long event with something for everyone. At the blow of the horn the 5k race/walk will take off at 11 am. Most will be in costume and 100‘s will line the route and cheer the runners/walkers on. First man and first woman to cross the finish line at the American Legion will receive $100 cash and winners medal! Every participant will receive a finishers medal. In addition to age group awards there will be prizes for Biggest Teams, Best Costume and Biggest Fundraiser. The race will be followed by a lively St. Patricks Day Party at the American Legion featuring Three Day Threshold Irish Band and Goulding Dancers. .  

The race route starts at the American Legion at 321 Winthrop Street, crosses the rotary to High Street, comes down into Medford Square, cross over to Riverside Avenue, takes a right onto Freedom Way with loop around the Andrews School and take a right back onto Riverside Avenue back into Medford Square, up High Street and finish at the American Legion.

The community is invited to come out and enjoy the festivities in Medford Square and cheer the festively dressed runners on. A bag piper will be playing in the middle of the square from 11am-12pm. Stop in at Modern Pastry for a Free cup of coffee with purchase. Irish Bread is being served!
