EVERETT – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Everett Chief of Police Steven Mazzie have confirmed the identity of the victim of an apparent Everett homicide as Daquan Burrell, 18, of Everett. Two suspects have been arrested in connection with this incident. Jesse Olivier, 18, of Everett, has been charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and will be arraigned Monday, January 23 in Malden District Court. A 17-year-old Chelsea male has been charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a dangerous weapon.
Yesterday, at approximately 4:21 p.m. the victim was brought to Cambridge Health Alliance Everett after sustaining a stab wound. The victim was pronounced deceased shortly thereafter. A preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was stabbed during an altercation on Springvale Avenue in Everett. This is an open and active investigation being conducted by the Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and the Everett Police Department.
These charges are allegations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
