Woburn Pedestrian Struck by Motor Vehicle Dies

 

WOBURN – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Woburn Chief of Police Robert Ferullo have confirmed that a female pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle in Woburn on November 1 has died.

 

On Tuesday, November 1, at approximately 7:00 p.m. Woburn Police and Fire responded to a report of two individuals having been struck by a commercial truck on Common Street in Woburn. Denise Hirschel, 67, of Boston, and a male pedestrian, 71, of Boston, who was known to the deceased, were both struck by the motor vehicle.

 

The victim was transported to Lahey Clinic in Burlington where she was later pronounced dead on November 5, 2016.

 

The driver remained on scene. The male victim was transported to an area-hospital and subsequently released.

 

This incident remains under investigation by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, the Woburn Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and no charges have been filed. No additional information is being released at this time.
