Medford:SUCCESSFUL HEALTH & WELLNESS FAIR HELD AT MHS!

Posted by

Yesterday, the Medford Public Schools hosted the 1st Annual Fall Health and Wellness Fair at Medford High School for city and school employees. Over (30) vendors attended this free event. The tables were loaded with important information, free giveaways and free raffles. The Medford Public Schools Food Service Department served yummy chili and refreshing watermelon slices…watermelon that was grown right here in the MHS garden! Fruition Vegan Kitchen, from West Medford Square, also offered tasty vegan appetizers, and WROR, 105.7 provided the music.

Students from the Medford Vocational Technical High School’s Health Assisting Class hosted a table and took attendees blood pressure readings. It was great to welcome back former Medford High School graduates who hosted some of the tables last night, including: Nancy Schneider from Citizen’s Bank; Andrea Bates McGrath from Bates Financial and Insurance; Sean Mangan, from Armstrong Ambulance; Stacey Williams Mundele from It Works and Cyndi Webber Dichard from Shakeology/Beach Body Fitness. Another familiar face was Jen Belanger, art teacher at the McGlynn Elementary School, who was assisting at the Energy Barre table!

Rachel Perry, Supervisor of Health and Physical Education spearheaded a “Get Up and Move” campaign, entitled “1st and 10”. City and school employees interested in joining will have the opportunity to win fabulous raffle prizes, when they meet their wellness goals. Interested employees should email Rachel for addition information at rperry@medford.k12.ma.us by October 10th!

Other groups who participated were: Ameriprise Financial, AXA Equitable, Putnam Investments, MetLife, the Medford Employees Credit Union, AllOne Health EAP, Hallmark Heath/Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Winchester Hospital/Lahey Health, Team Medford, Spaulding Rehabilitation Outpatient Center, Members Plus Credit Union, WIC-North Suburban, Acupuncture Together, Priority Wellness, Boston Physical Therapy & Wellness, Crunch Fitness, CorePower Yoga, Jenny Craig, Elements Massage, Brookline Bank, Blake Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine, and Studio Poise.
