Music Fills the Air in Newton all Summer Long!

Bring the whole family, a blanket to sit on, a picnic, and dance and sing along with the great performances that are free and a real summer treat for all. The free concert series is sponsored by the Mayor’s Office for Cultural Affairs, Newton Community Pride, with a lead sponsorship of the Wednesday series by the Village Bank.


Sundays, Newton Center Green, 6:30pm

Grupo Fantasia – Sunday, July 24th

Performing Latin music from all over the Caribbean and South America, their extensive repertoire includes original and cover songs from the Caribbean and Latin America.


New Black Eagle Jazz Band – Sunday, July 31st

Bringing the sounds of traditional New Orleans Jazz to audiences all over the world, for more than 40 years, the band has delighted audiences all over the world with their huge and eclectic repertoire of jazz from the 1920’s and 30’s.


Newpoli – Sunday, July 10th

Performing music from the South of Italy laced with influences from all of the surrounding Mediterranean cultures. Originals are mixed with exciting arrangements of traditional music, the tempo is high, and the drama and passion in their blood can be heard in every note!


Studio Two – Sunday, July 17th

A headlining Beatles band that pays tribute to the early Beatles years. By recreating the Fab Four’s music, instruments, and onstage banter, Studio Two performs your most favorite hits that will bring people to the dance floor.



Tuesdays for kids, Newton Center Green, 1pm

Alaistair Mook – Tuesday, July 12

Grammy nominee Alastair Moock makes real kids music that parents can actually enjoy. Moock and Friends’ live shows are rowdy, rootsy, singin’ and dancin’ fun for the whole family!


Judy Pancoast – Tuesday, July 19th

Grammy nominee Judy Pancoast brings her energetic Judy Crew dancers to the stage with a fun-filled concert of original tunes! Judy has toured in 49 US States and abroad and has brought her magic brand of ‘Bubblegum Pop for Sweet Kids’ to hundreds of thousands of children.


Vanessa & The Jumping Monkeys – Tuesday, July 26

One of Boston’s finest award-winning bands for families, Vanessa Trien and the Jumping Monkeys, make their Newton Center debut with a rousing, interactive show for kids of all ages. Friends are also invited to join in a parade “Carnival Day” style!

Classic Groove​- Wednesday, July 20th

West Newton, Capt. Ryan Park

Their repertoire ranges from R&B and Top 40 to Smooth Jazz and Latin; as comfortable with Country and Swing as with Middle Eastern music and Show Tunes.


Women in World Jazz – Wednesday, July 27th

Newtonville, Senior Center​

Bringing together women of different nationalities with extensive experience in performance and education. The music is easy to relate to, diverse, cheerful and danceable. This is represented by their music and dance from Cuba, Brazil, Cape Verde, Japan, and the Middle East.


The Infractions​- Wednesday, August 3rd

Auburndale Library

An energetic 6 piece band with a dynamic horn section, led by bass and vocalist Brian Stratton (Hootie and the Blowfish and Chicago), the band covers all styles of music, like classics by Stevie Wonder, Chicago, Steely Dan, the Commodores and Bruce Springsteen. They bring plastic instrument so kids in the audience can play along!


The BC & Company Band – Wednesday, August 10th

Nonantum, Magni-Colletti Park ​​

The ten piece band performs an eclectic mix of Swing, Jazz, Latin and other danceable music from the 40’s-Today. Led by one-time Newton resident and Newton middle school teacher, they opened for Cool and The Gang and Gloria Gaynor in Boston.
