Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan, Cambridge Fire Chief Gerald Reardon, Cambridge Police Commissioner Christopher Burke and Community Leaders To Issue a Summer Public Safety Alert

 

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan, Cambridge Fire Chief Gerald Reardon, Cambridge Police Commissioner Christopher Burke and officials from public safety agencies will formally issue a public safety alert regarding summer safety and the use of fireworks on the first official day of summer and as the July 4 holiday weekend approaches.

First responders from public safety agencies in Cambridge

           

WHAT: Summer Safety Announcement and Danger of Fireworks Demonstration

 

· Officials will issue a public safety alert and highlight prevention efforts residents can take concerning: drowning, window safety, and summer car safety.

· Officials will discuss enforcement actions and health and safety precautions related to fireworks.

 

There will be a demonstration by the Cambridge Explosive Ordinance Unit (Bomb Squad) depicting the impact of a firework if it went off near a body or in a hand.

 

WHERE: Danehy Park, St. Peter’s Field,

Across from 84 Sherman Street, Cambridge, MA. 
Parking is available in the lot immediately next to the St. Peter’s Field.
