Medford’s 385th Anniversary Parade

  
Medford’s 385th Anniversary Parade will be held next Sunday/September 27, 2015 at 2 PM. The parade will step off from Medford HIgh School, continue down Winthrop St, onto High St, onto Riverside Ave, disbanding at Medford City Hall.

The parade will feature over 19 bands and a huge Shriners contingent! Mayor McGlynn announced that the Grand Marshalls of the parade will be Medford’s Clergy Association. 

 

A number of local youth and community groups will be marching including: the Brooks, McGlynn, Columbus and Roberts Schools, MHS Gay/Straight Alliance, Friends of Chevalier, the Medford Bicycle Commission, the Medford Elks, Medford High Crew, Medford High Girls Lacrosse, Medford Recreational Hockey, Medford Youth Girls Softball, Medford Overcoming Addiction, the MHS Band & Cheerleaders, the Salvation Army, the Sons of the American Revolution, and the U.S.S. Constitution Color Guard. In addition, the Tibetan Association of Boston, the Bangeldesh Association of New England, and various Minutemen groups will also be in the line of march.Tufts University will have (2) bands, the BEATS percussion group, and the Wind Ensemble. Other bands participating include: the Waltham American Legion Band, The Reminisants, The Bordellos Country/Western Band, the Spirit of America Fife and Drums, the Roma Band, the Right Mix Quartet, The Natick American Legion Band, the New England Brass Band, the Massachusetts Maritime Band & Honor Guard, the Hot Tamale Brass Band, the Boston Firemen’s Band, the Boston Windjammers and much more! There will be Super Heroes marching, including Batman, Spiderman and Captain America, along with the Batmobile. There will be floats, antique cars and both the Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts will be participating.
