Unarmed Assault with Intent to Rob Arrests

On August 25th, 2015, members of the Tewksbury Police Department responded to the Gold’s Gym (540 Main Street) for a report of a serious motor vehicle accident that involved a single vehicle that had rolled over. Upon interviewing the driver of the crashed vehicle, Tewksbury Detectives learned that he was the victim of an attempted unarmed robbery by two male suspects prior to the crash. It is alleged that the victim was lured to Tewksbury to sell marijuana and then beaten and choked unconscious by two males while he was operating his vehicle prior to the crash. The victim sustained minor injuries and was shaken up.

 

A criminal investigation that ensued identified the two male suspects involved. On August 26, 2015, Tewksbury Detectives arrested James Perry, 26, of 21 Secor Way in Tewksbury for Unarmed Assault with Intent to Rob and Strangulation. Mr. Perry was located in Chelmsford and placed under arrest for the above charges.  

 

An arrest warrant has been issued from Lowell District Court for the second male suspect for Unarmed Assault with Intent to Rob and Assault & Battery. The second individual involved in this crime has been identified as James Hembree, 26, of 749 North Street in Tewksbury. Tewksbury Police continue to search for this subject and ask that anyone with information about his whereabouts call the Tewksbury Police Department immediately. Mr. James Perry was arraigned in Lowell District Court on August 27th, 2015.
