Mayor Carlo DeMaria and the Everett Police Department hosted another successful National Night Out last Tuesday. Residents from across the City came together for an evening of fun with neighbors and friends. The theme this year was “Take Back the Streets.”
“We’ve been running this event for the last nine years,” said Mayor DeMaria. “Every summer, it gets better and better. It’s a great time for Everett residents to meet and get to know each other while enjoying some good food.”
Everett police officers stepped out of their uniforms to provide attendees with delicious barbecue. Representatives from the SWAT team and Cataldo Ambulance were present to answer questions and show visitors the interior of the official vehicles.
Members of the Everett police force canine unit gave a demonstration with a couple of Everett’s most exemplary trained dogs. An excited crowd of residents watched the dogs respond to commands and hunt for drug scents.
