The event was held this year on May 9th at the Boston Athletic Club in South Boston and drew a crowd of more than 300 people. Paul Fitzgerald founded “Field of Dreams”, a day-long wiffleball tournament, with his wife, Leigh Anne, after their daughter Caroline was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when she was 8 years old. Caroline receives her care at Joslin Diabetes Center. The tournament, which has raised a total of over $360,000 in the last six years, benefits Joslin Diabetes Center’s High Hopes Fund; the fund directly supports vital diabetes clinical care programs and ground-breaking research initiatives at Joslin.
