Stolen Motor Vehicle Suspect Arrested

On October 8, at approximately 12:45 am, the Tewksbury Police Department arrested a 16 year old juvenile from Lowell, Ma for charges of receiving a stolen motor vehicle, failure to stop for Police, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation and speeding.

Tewksbury Officers made the arrest after responding to the area of Fox Run Drive for a suspicious individual possibly breaking into cars. Upon arrival, officers observed a gray Honda Accord speeding away from the area and attempted to stop this vehicle. While attempting to stop this vehicle, Tewksbury Police Department contacted the owner of the vehicle and confirmed that his Honda had just been stolen from his driveway. Tewksbury Officers continued the pursuit into Lowell where the suspect abandoned the vehicle on Barrington Street. The suspect then led Officers from Tewksbury, Lowell, and the State Police on a foot chase through the Moore Street area before being apprehended on Carter Street. He was then transported back to the Tewksbury Police Station where he was booked and advised of his rights before being released to his parents.
