Mayor Christenson, Police Chief Kevin Molis and the entire Malden Police Department honored the memory of fallen officer Edward C. Callahan at a Memorial Ceremony on the 50th anniversary of his supreme sacrifice. The ceremony took place at the delta across from 347 Pleasant Street which was the location where Officer Callahan was killed in the line of duty. A memorial will stand on the site to ensure that his service and sacrifice are not forgotten.

Officer Callahan’s widow, Mrs. Mimi Callahan was in attendance with grandson Joshua Redmond. Joshua is currently a recruit at the Boylston Police Academy where upon his successful graduation he will become a fourth generation member of the Callahan family to proudly wear a Malden Police badge.
